- We develop a detailed picture of your facility's current state, examining all patient care processes and identifying process breakdowns, workflow issues, barriers and workarounds. Then, we create ideal models of redesigned patient care processes borne out of Best Practices, your senior leadership's vision, and key input from your hospital staff.
- You will see rapid, tangible improvements—our "Quick Hits" strategy provides distinct, effective changes in a concentrated area, bringing improvements in a working process within 4-8 weeks of project start. Our "Gap Closure" plan then serves to bridge your current state with the future, ideal model of patient care processes.
Here are some other components of our Design & Implement/Phase II projects.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring hospital-wide performance measurement systems to ensure accountability towards achieving the hospital's target goals.
- Creating and revising forms and documents designed to optimize workflow.
- Working with physician leadership to identify the scope of proposed changes and the effect of changes on physician activity.
- Introducing Core Values for Caring, EMPATH's Customer Satisfaction program. This program helps hospital staff view the patient experience from the patient's viewpoint, and uses specific scripts for each constituency to ensure a consistently high level of communication with each patient.
- Revising policies and procedures.
- Reviewing and revising job expectations, as well as training and orientation programs which closely link to performance evaluations.
